Many infinitive verbs in Spanish en in "-ar." These are called "-ar" verbs. You'll also hear them called "AR" verbs or something similar.
Ejemplos:
| English | Verbo Infinitivo en Español |
|---|---|
| to talk | hablar |
| to sing | cantar |
| to eat | comer |
| to write | escribir |
To use all verbs, we change the ending to match who is doing the action. These are called conjugations.
Here are some important pronouns to remember:
- Yo means I.
- Tú means you (informal).
- Él/Ella means he/she.
Here's an example of a regular "-AR" verb. We call it regular because there are no changes anywhere in the verb except for the ending.
| Persona | Forma |
|---|---|
| 1a persona | yo hablo |
| 2a persona | tú hablas |
| 3a persona | él / ella habla |
