Instructions:
Create your own advertisement for school supplies from a Spanish-speaking country using PowerPoint, Word, Canva, or another creative tool.
Before You Begin:
Search for example ads using terms like “publicidad de útiles escolares” or “anuncio de útiles escolares” to get ideas. Add specific countries to your search for more ideas. (Super tip: We've reviewed some schools in different parts of Latin America. You could look up a city and view schools in the area with Google/Bing/Apple maps. You could even look up their required school supplies lists, and add this information to your ad!)
Requirements:
Choose a city and country where people can get these school supplies. Use local currency for your prices (Mexico: pesos, Peru: soles, Spain: euros, etc.). Include at least 5 images of school supplies that are culturally appropriate based on what we’ve read in class. Each item must be labeled in Spanish with the name and a short description. Use the local word for an item if you can find examples. We've seen specific examples from Perú, like plumón for marcador. www.wordreference.com is a great resources for seeing what words are used in different countries.)

- Image: (Image of a nice notebook)
- Label: Cuaderno
- Price: 3,18€
- Description: Tenemos cuaderno de anillas. or ¡Tenemos cuadernos para todas tus clases!
Make it visually appealing and persuasive—would someone want to buy from your ad?
Submit Finished Ad to Schoology:
Upload a screenshot or the file itself. Do not submit a link. Links may not work if I don’t have access to your online account.
How to take a screenshot on a Chromebook:
- Full screen: Ctrl + Show Windows (this is the key with a rectangle and two lines)
- Select an area: Ctrl + Shift + Show Windows
