Let's create maps of our school to help future international students find their way around Broome better!
Instructions: Create a map (un mapa) or blueprint (un plano) of a section of Broome High School. We'll divide the school into sections in class and assign them.
Label places in the school in Spanish on your map after drawing it. We will create sentences with prepositions and the places you wrote to describe our school. Label all the important places where students go during the school day or after school - particularly bathrooms, classrooms, and other everyday spaces.
We will try to use large sheets of paper if Mr. Wilkins can get them.
If you would like to also label your map / blueprint in English, that is OK. It may help when we are making sentences. (It's not necessary.)
Examples:
- locker room – el vestuario
- weight room – la sala de pesas / el salón de pesas
- library – la biblioteca
- bathroom – el baño
You can use teachers’ names or room numbers for the classrooms and hallways:
- El salón de clase de Señora Sanders / Mrs. Sanders's classroom
- El salón de clase 720 (setecientos veinte). Room # 720
- El pasillo 700 (setecientos). / The 700 hallway
- El pasillo de ciencias / The science hallway
